That the sincere condolences of Kingston City Council be extended to the family and friends of Tony Ketcheson who passed away recently at the age of 70. Tony will be popularly remembered as the ‘Sammich Man’, and for his eye-catching shirts and complimentary hats. After working at Extendicare for decades, he spent his most recent years volunteering with Kingston Street Mission and pedalling his bike through the streets and trails of Kingston, handing out his homemade ‘sammiches’, bottles of water and fruit to anyone who needed it. Never one for the spotlight, Tony was a recipient of the King Charles III Medal in 2025 in recognition of his significant contributions to the Kingston community. Our thoughts are with Tony’s family and friends during this difficult time.
