That the sincere condolences of Kingston City Council be extended to the family and friends of Nancy Hanschmann, who passed away on March 3, 2025. Nancy worked for 37 years for the City of Kingston as a Transit Operator and for Public Works. She loved driving the snow plow, was the first female assistant supervisor with Public Works Services and built strong relationships with her co-workers. Nancy was a member of CUPE, locally, regionally and nationally. She fought for LGBTQ+ rights and those in marginalized communities. Nancy was an activist and will be sorely missed at all levels of CUPE by her union brothers and sisters. Our thoughts are with Nancy’s family and friends during this difficult time.
